Dingle Peninsula
Then we started on the Dingle peninsula and the Slea Head circle drive, which ends at Ireland’s most western point at Dunmore Head.

Belfast
The weather was threatening again today and we did get a few heavy showers. We had Ferry tickets for the 1 am sailing to the Isle of Man and so we had all day to get to Belfast for the 1130 pm check-in tonight.

Riding north to Northern Ireland we were all prepared for the border with our passports, but of course there is no border to cross. You only know you have entered a new country because there is a sign that says Speed limits are posted in miles.

We got lucky with a break in the weather for the visit to the Giant’s Causway. This is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns from volcanic eruption.

Isle of Man
Finding the ferry dock is not that easy and did involve some driving around. There is very poor temporary signage. We did find it, but had 4 hours to kill and so we found a McDonalds to hang out in. Arriving at the dock at 1030 we met about 20 other bikers.
The ferry was late and finally loaded at 2 am. We had a bit of a rough night with Dan trying to sleep in a chair that did not recline, while I had better luck on the floor.

TT
This meant a quick breakfast and then we did two laps of the TT course before the rest of the Sunday drivers got up.

The wind on the mountaintop was pretty fierce. This is the corner where our friend Gino of Gino's Travels left the race in a helicopter. He went down trying to avoid running over the rider who had crashed in front of him.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
