I went... 26 miles away from home!
This is not a joke thread and I hope this isn't a very bad introduction as my first post! I am genuinely pleased about my accomplishment. I learnt to ride last year and soon after got my bike - a Honda cb600f. Unfortunately I'm quite a nervous gentleman and haven't been using the bike nearly as much as I should; only ever venturing to roads I know and never more than 10 miles from home
But today I took a ride out to a place called Matlock Baths, which is a beautiful little town where bikers seem to love going! I got about 2 and a half hours of seat time and feel like I have learnt so much
I have recently decided I want to take a trip - probably just for a day or 2 - and I feel like this little 2 hour round journey was the start of that adventure. It feels tiny, perhaps insignificant besides the journeys I know a lot of people here take, but you know what? I'm proud of myself
Unfortunately I didn't stop in Matlock, as quite frankly I'm still intimidated of parking my bike up somewhere unfamiliar, especially where lots of other bikers can see me! I have promised myself I will stop at the next destination I ride to though, if it is of a similar distance. On my return journey I was starting to ache and I could feel my judgement was not as sharp as it should have been. And I will take pictures that I can share!
Again, I hope this post isn't a waste of space. I feel like it shouldn't be because I feel very accomplished, and I hope somebody else agrees
