Spending a few days with my mate and hopefully a visit into Dresden and a visit to Colditz Castle is on the cards.

Day 52 Balkans Trip
Day 52 Balkans Trip
Didn’t do a lot today. Went in to Dresden for some food and just relaxed.
I have a long journey ahead, starting tomorrow. About 540 miles to get to my ferry. But I am doing it over two days and more than likely stay on the Autobahn due to the unpredictable weather.

Day 53 Balkans Trip
Day 53 Balkans Trip
Not a lot happened today, just a lot of miles on the autobahn. Covered over 300 miles. But I am glad I choose to use it because between the 100 and 250 mile points it pretty much bounced it down all the time. But that is only 6 days in just under 8 week at this time of year so I can not complain.
Got a hotel for the night on the outskirts of Dortmund, on the map it is called All Seasons Hotel but it is an Ibis Styles N51.49632 E7.32861, quite expensive for what you get, but breakfast is included.
Tomorrow is the last leg on the mainland, about 200 more miles to cover to the ferry.
Day 53 Graupzig to Dortmund area

Day 54 Balkans Trip
Day 54 Balkans Trip
Not really an awe inspiring day sat on the autobahn but a dry one at least. The weather was really nice, the sun was out but it was a bit chilly.
The roads weren't too bad but I did hit a tail back around Essen which I was able to carve my way through with ease apart from one German in his Merc who saw me and closed the gap! T@@ser.
On the ferry now waiting to leave Belgium. I have a short journey tomorrow and I am expecting
Day 54 Dortmund to Zeebrugge
Waiting for Check-in to open

Day 55 (Final Day) Balkans Trip
Day 55 (Final Day) Balkans Trip
Horrible night on the ferry, rough sea crossing, felt crap.
Docked 45 mins late due to high winds, had to get the tugs to push us into the berth.
Once off the ship it was a quick 45 mins home and the mundane practice of unpacking….don't you love it!
I will work on a summery and post shortly

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
