Morroco solo

Hi folks,
I newly discoversed Horizon Unlimited and am very impressed by what I read, and it gives me the will to plan new rides.
I went to Morroco last january and have had a wonderful time there.
My 1986 XT 600 did well and was happy crowling in the sand
Arrived in Tanger late after noon, spent first night there in the Ibis hotel which I recommend. Then headed south Highway to Larrache then road to Meknes, Azrou and Midelt. Fresh night stop in Midelt, can't remember the name of the hotel but very friendly and around 100 DH.
Then Errachidia, Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. Spent 4 days there, meeting very nice people and riding along the Algerian bondary North, then south then west. Magic bivouacs, silence and stars like I had forgotten there were so many of them up there!
Piste to Zagora, Tagounite Foum Zguid Ouarzazate, Tazenaht, Agadir, Imsouane, Marrakech.
I met some friends in Marrakech and spent 4 days there. I finally decided to leave my bike there and will be back end of february for 5 days and plan to go there 15 days in may.
I enjoyed it so much!!!!!
I am gathering few friends and motivate them to go back in Morroco in september. The plan is simple: Nador, Missour, Merzuga, Tata and Tan tan.
Maybe Mauritania, if we have time.
Thank you all for the precious information I could pick up along my reading, it helps me a lot and makes me dream.

900 GPZ is such a nice bike!!!
The bike you can see on pictures is my regular XT fitted with a 86 tenere tank and saddle. The result is very satisfying. It's light, reliable, simple to fix or repair and has a good range.
Ciao

to the HUBB, look forward to picture etc of the trip, Morocco is a very popular destination for Europeans, and once you've been there you can understand why!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
