Hi Overland!
You're on a RTW...Wow, congrats!
Happy to hear you past in Italy on your itinerary...and that you liked it!
Yeah, it could be expensive if you come here during high season or if you don't know which places are cheap but close enough to your POI.
Next time...call me!

Interesting trip.
I done about the same mileage going around three continents. I'm sure there is plenty to fill a 6 months trip in Italy. It has the most amount of Unesco world heritage sites and so much culture and different regions.
I'm going there next April as a part of a 4 months Europe tour.
I have a feeling it will be hard to get out of Italy, unless I'm getting broke...

Hi Guillaume,
I know it's quite a long mileage to be all in the same country, it's always great fun when people (even italians) tell me "I have been here and there in Italy and you?" ...and I reply..."I rode in Italy too, for about 50.000km!"
Guess their faces?!?
I've spent a week for every region (n.20) and NOW I can say "I know my home!"
.... So, if you need help with your planning just let me know...I will advice you on where to go and what to see!

That's a great offer and I will take you up on it.
I will be entering Italy in the beginning of April from the French Riviera, Menton.
I haven't yet precisely planned my itinerary in Italy, but the general idea is to ride the coast to Cinque Terre, Pisa, visit a friend in Toscana, Check out Rome, ride the Amalfi coast, ferry Bari to Croatian coast, ride up then back in Italy for Venice and the Dolomites and crisscrossing the alps.
That's an early plan, any suggestion is greatly welcomed

Hi Guillaume,
At a glance it seems to be already a good route to follow! I might suggest you something from Amalfi to Bari. Ever heard of the region of Abruzzo?
By the way, if you rather you can keep me updated and I can help you out with the route planning!
Well...if come to Rome, you know...we have to share a
