Sounds painful, but we're glad you are here to tell us about it. A stark reminder to expect the unexpected from car drivers (and wildlife, and girlfriends...)
Hoping for a speedy and full recovery amigo.

Here's to a fast and complete recovery!
Can't stress enough the value of really good Physical Therapy. It's hard work and progress is slow, but will pay off in spades in a year from now.
(I had TWO infected skin grafts! ... they gave up, never could get it right, they cut them out with an exacto knife ... no pain killers!)

Good physical therapy saved me and got my strength back after 10 days in ICU and 20 more days in hospital. Six further operations, nearly 2 year recovery. Good PT kept me going and eventually got me back on the bike.

All the best!

It's great to know your are not giving up after such an accident. You are one of those examples of determination and motivation, we should learn from you and keep our plans or dreams still ongoing no matter what, as you do it.
Wish you recover very fast and get on your new bike soon to achieve your future trips

Wow, that's a pretty grim set of injuries you had there! Great to hear you are recovering and still have the spirit to get back on. Good luck with the rest of your recovery!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
