Riding Trampolin de la Muerte (Death)/Diablo(Devil) in Colombia
Been riding in Colombia last few weeks (what an incredible country) on my way from Arizona to Ushuaia. Just rode Trampolín de la Muerte. 60 km off-road made in 1930 to transport troops from Colombia to Peru. Since being built in 1930 it has taken the lives of more than 3000 people, over 500 in 2011. Constantly raining in this area so what kills most people is massive mud slides that take out the road and anyone on it, plunging them over 1000 ft edges. Fortunately the road surface is hard packed gravel with lots of traction, never know what to expect for constant road repairs, and you have to keep a good ear out for oncoming drivers on the countless blind corners.
