Soultrip was born initially as the dream of two Uruguayan friends and business partners,
Jorge Rivero (30) and
Diego Castaño (24), who decided to ride the world on motorcycle. After one month of planning and posting about it on social networks, the dream transformed into something much bigger.
During that month we talked to a lot of people and suddenly we felt our journey had a deeper purpose than just fulfilling our dream. After finding out that with just $1 dollar a child can be fed for a day, we decided to do the trip to raise funds for the
Save the Children organization which helps children in 120 countries.
Our motto “1 Mile, 1 Smile” symbolizes our objective of donating $1 dollar for each mile we ride. Fundraising will be done through
FirstGiving which makes donating through their website simple, fast and totally secure.
The journey begins in San Diego, California, USA on August 1st 2014. We’ll spend 2 years riding 100,000 miles (160,000kms) all over the world while capturing homeless peoples’ stories and sharing them as short documentaries each week. With them we hope to touch peoples’ lives and hopefully inspire them to become more aware and appreciative of all we take for granted. These videos will be produced by our sponsor,
Microtime Productions which has worked with huge brands such as ESPN and Fox Sports among others.
For the first stage, we’ll ride more than 10,000 miles (16,000kms) through at least 35 of the 50 states in the USA from August to November while working on our web design and development company,
Excelsior Labs, to support ourselves.
We are already super thankful, excited and surprised for all the support we’ve been receiving through our social pages and blog. It’s amazing how people from all over the world reach out to help us.
Thank you for your support and for taking the time to read this!
PS: Don’t forget to share and spread the word
