We - a young German couple - will start our ride RTW in June 2011!
Hello to everybody!
We are a couple - Bea 27 years old and Helle 29 years old - from Upper Bavaria in Germany.
We´ll start on our motorbike worldtour with our two Honda Transalps - year of construction 1991 and 1993 - in June 2011.
We´ll drive trough eastern Europe (Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia) till Vladiwostok. From there we´ll ship to Thailand. There we´ll ride a round to Cambodia and Laos before we´ll drive southbound to Australia. There we eventually will do a little work & travel to fill up our vacation fund.
Then we´ll ship to Alaska to ride the famous Panamericana to Tierra del Fuego. Maybe, if we have enough money, we´ll visit some more areas in Canada and North America and the African continent, too, at our way home to Germany. But that´ll come up...
If you want to know more about us and about our journey, then visit our homepage www.TimetoRide.de
We hope to get more information about foreighn countries in this forum and - eventually - contact to lokal bikers which can give us tips to their contries. We would be very pleased to hear from you!
Greets from Upper Bavaria
Bea & Helle
PS: please excuse our bad German-English, but we hope to get better during our journey!

Hey there, welcome to the hubb! Your trip sounds like it'll be a lot of fun, I myself am planning a trip in a similar direction leaving from the UK in May, through Eastern Europe, Middle East, Russia, then South somehow eventually ending up in Oz, also to work and build up travel money..
My plan is very loose at the moment, I'm currently working out the finer details, looks like I may be selling my bike in Russia, and maybe backpacking through China and South East Asia - as I can't afford to ship it!
It'd be cool if our path cross, maybe in Russia, it's hard to say at the moment, timings are all up in the air!
Hope to hear from you, maybe we can share information regarding routes and other trip related information!
Cheers, Andy
PS. Please excuse my atrocious English/German, I'm trying to work on it

Welcome to HU Bea and Helle - and no apologies needed for your English, it's very good!
Be sure to check out the Meetings page and try to get to some - it's a great way to meet travellers, as is the Communities section - a VERY important place for travellers to check out.
Also, to get your link on HU, please see the link request section.
Have a great trip, and keep us posted here!

The Planning phase - very exciting
to the HUBB!
Wow a great trip in the making. I think the planning phase is the most exciting part of travelling as there are so many unknowns and it's easy to get bum-steered down the wrong path when you're a little green. Don't let that phase you, enjoy the planning and without a doubt you'll have a great time.
Ride safe and post lots of pics and when you get to Australia if you need any tips, let us know.
Cheers,
Pascal & Arja

Hi Bea and Helle,
Welcome here. I come from Bavaria myself, done my national service in Mittenwald.
The other day, I met a young couple, with two brand new looking BMW 850 at a parking lot here in the SW of WA, on their second day of their RWT here in Australia. Katja and Jens, boomer.de bike-travel - Der Blog unserer Motorrad-Weltreise - boomer.de bike-travel. Spend an evening together and went for a ride the next day, down to Augusta. Nice couple, from AA. Might pay to get in touch with them. In case you will come down under, call in.
If not, stay upright and healthy.
Good luck to you.
Cheers Helgo

Hello to everybody!
At first, thank you all for the nice reception in the HUBB!
In any case, we´ll post pics and travelogues here and on our homepage. We really hope, that we can tell you great and interesting stories from June when we start our tour!
@Andy:
Hey, we would be pleased to meet you somewhere on the way! We´ll start in Upper Bavaria at the first or second weekend in June and we had planed about 3 month till Vladiwostok. Our route takes us through the Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. We shold stay in contact to arrange a meeting somewhere on the road!
@Grant Johnson:
Thank you for your tips! Especially the Communities are very interesting!
@Helgo:
You won´t believe it, "the world is a village"! We read about you and your trip with Kati & Jens on their Blog a few days ago! And now me met you here in the HUBB! It´s so crazy!
If everything goes as planned, we´ll arrive in Darwin in December this year. Then we´ll drive once trough Australia and maybe do a little Work & Travel to refill our vacation fund. But we´ll visit WA definitely, so we would be pleased about a contact!

Hello Sara!
How is your planned route?
Probably we´ll arrive in Alaska in July 2012 (that´s our current plan, but that´s still a longe way away and who knows what all happens until then...) and met us somewhere on the road?
Many greetings from Upper Bavaria
Bea & Helle

We will fly the bikes from Buenos Aires to Cape town. Then Africa, europe, asia.....If you are in Vancouver before we leave love to host you! But your route crosses ours in 2012!!!!! Hallo Bea & Helle, und herzlich willkommen im HUBB . You have put up a nice website. I'll be following closely, especially, since you will be going partly opposite of my planned route for 2012.
Save travels,

Hallo Ihr 2 - hi there the 2 of you!
Great plan! Too bad that you did not include Japan.
Would have been on your way to kangaroo country - well
at least more or less.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing and seeing more from you,
take care and safe riding,
a former North-North-Bavarian (Bad Brueckenau)

Hello to everybody!
@Sara & Daniel:
Wow, thank you very much for your invitation! We will contact you, when we know, when we arrive in North America and then, maybe we can visit you in your home or on the street! We are looking forward to it!
@Knight of the Holy Graal:
Thank your for your good wishes!
@Thomas:
Thank you for your compliments regarding our HP! Your 2008er trip sounds great! But 11.000 miles (das sind über 17.000 km, Wahnsinn!) in 22 days sounds very hard! It's a pity that you start riding home not until 2012, otherwise we would certainly meet us on the road!
@Klaus:
Hello to a former Lower Franconia! Hm... maybe we will visit Japan it depending on if we get a Container for our Motos from Vladiwostok to Bangkok. When not, we´ll take the ferry to Japan and get a Container in Tokyo - that´s at least our current plan!
Many greetings from Upper Bavaria!
Bea & Helle

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
