G´day mates!

If you think the German deposit system is complicated and very bureaucratic, you are completely wrong!

In our new travel report “Death the Argentinean deposit system” we will tell you about our daily gauntlet running on the Argentinean supermarket check outs.

But there are good things to talk about, too. Helmut did some first aid help on an Argentinean Transalp and for once we used our feed not just for braking and shifting but also for hiking the famous Mount Fitz-Roy.
Well, a few kilometres at least... ;-)

G´day Mates!

In South America BBQ´s are not just an important part of the food culture, it´s also a way of life.

In our new travel report “It´s Asado-Time” we are following a lamb´s way onto the fire up close and are contributing a little bit of our Bavarian culture to this important event...

Furthermore we have to move with our portable home into a tent ghetto for a couple of days before we are able to escape into the rough Patagonian nature at the shore of the Magellan Street.

And we are celebrating the reunion with an old travel friend we first met in Australia...

G´day mates!

We take the ferry across the Magellan Street to the legendary island “Tierra del Fuego” from where we have some more exhausting days of riding before we finally arrive in Ushuaia.

A few years ago we would never have dreamed about riding our own old motorcycles to the most southern city of the world. We also would never have dreamed that the wind in southern Patagonia can be that strong that it blows a motorcycle down like it´s a toy... :-)

And if you think that nowadays there are no more treasures to hunt you are wrong. In our new travel report “The treasure from the Garibaldi Pass” we will proof you the opposite! :-)

G´day mates!

Work first, then pleasure.

This is the slogan of our new travel report „No ice without sweat!”, because Helmut has to drudge first before we are able to visit the impressive Perito Moreno glacier in the South of Argentina.

Furthermore we are killing time together with about 50 other Argentineans on a gas station and we are enjoying a great camping evening together with old and new motorcycle travel friends.

G´day mates!

We have actually planned to celebrate Bea´s birthday with a relaxed BBQ and a cold , but things sometimes turn out very differently than planned…

But our new travel report “A different birthday surprise” is not just about Bea´s great day, we also visiting the National Park `Los Alerces´, which not just surprised us with its stunning untouched nature but also with forest fires & storm and rain.

Furthermore we are looking forward to another meet up with old and new travel friends.

We have some news and updates in our category „Equipment“, too:

Almost four years of travelling around the world on our motorcycles have also left some marks on our camping equipment.

What has proven successful?
What did we sort out?
Do we have a “must-have”, that we would never wanna miss again in our daily camping life?

In our completely redesigned category “Equipment -> Camping” you will find answers to all this questions and many more:

G´day mates!

From the relaxed motorcycle traveler’s paradise „La Posta“ in Azul we are heading into the urban jungle of Buenos Aries, which is welcoming us with 13 million citizens, a ten-lane motorway and a proper traffic chaos!

Luckily the motorcycle community in Argentina is fantastic and so we have a warm welcome and a place to stay at a motorcycle enthusiastic local couple´s place.

After a couple of days of marathon sightseeing in Argentina’s capital it´s time for new adventures and so we set off for Uruguay and have been rewarded with a stunning sunset at the shore of Rio Uruguay.

Click here for our new travel report “The urban jungle is calling!”:

Enjoy!

At the beginning of our trip we thought we just have important and useful equipment with us, but that doesn´t mean that our opinion had proven right over the time.

This is the reason why we have the category “Field reports” on our web page and today we added another long term equipment field report:

We have used the SENA SMH 10 Bluetooth Communication System almost daily for 26 month and now we give you a detailed report about the system, how it works, what it offers and if we´ve been satisfied with it!

Click here for the field report:

And if you don´t want to check our thread in this forum regularly for news, you can also subscribe to our newsletter and we´ll keep you updated. You will receive our newsletter emails every one to two weeks.

G´day mates!

To be honest, we had no concrete idea about what is waiting for us in an exotic country like “Uruguay”.

But maybe that´s the reason why we have been surprised in such a positive way!
We camped on wonderful beaches and isolated lagoons, we strolled along cobbled alleys through historic colonial style towns and met unbelievable friendly and curious people.

But that´s by far not all this small country located on the South American Atlantic coast has to offer, in our new travel report “Different than expected!” you will find out more!

But that´s not all!
We also have a new update in our category „Equipment“!

We are quite happy with our sleeping bags, but we found out that their comfort temperature of – 2 degree is not enough in colder seasons and in high altitude… what helped?

G´day mates!

From now on the navigation in our category „Travel diary“ is even more easy, as you can now select your favorite travel report with just one click in an interactive Google Map!

Before we say goodbye to Uruguay we are visiting the capital Montevideo where we discover the historic old town by foot.

Helmut also has to do some major work on our trusted travel companions which takes quite a while. But at least now they are like new!

After a two week work stop near Montevideo the road is finally calling again and we are heading for Brazil.

Click here for our new travel report „Hasta la vista Uruguay!“ and our redesigned category “Travel diary”:

(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

And as there are some questions we have been asked a lot we decided to publish a new category „FAQ“ – Frequently asked questions – on our blog to provide a detailed answer to this questions.

If you have further questions you want to have answered in our FAQ´s, please let us know!

G´day Mates!

Right in the beginning of our time in Brazil we were facing a couple of surprises, adventures and nightly odysseys.

We didn´t expect that Brazil isn´t welcoming us with sunny beaches, summer temperatures and delicious cocktails but with dull November weather, short days and rain.

Despite these ups and downs we are looking forward to discover more of Brazil, but for now we want share some of our previous Brazilian adventures with you in our current travel report “A “frosty” welcome!”:
Südamerika 25 - Brasilien - Ein "frostiger" Empfang! - TimetoRide - Auf Motorrad-Weltreise mit Bea und Helle
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

Enjoy the reading!

New update in our category „Equipment“!

Our SMH 10 Headsets accompanied us on our trip for over three years, but not it´s time for them to retire… but how do we stay in contact in the future?

Click here to find out more:
Elektronikausrüstung - TimetoRide - Auf Motorrad-Weltreise mit Bea und Helle
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

We hope you can get some useful information!

And if you are looking for even more adventurous, wintry or typical Brazilian pictures, please feel free to visit our Facebook page “Time to ride” (https://www.facebook.com/TimetoRide.de), where we post new pictures every few days!

Hi all together!

We had a tough time over the last 3 month as we needed to ride our bikes about 10.000 km from Brazil to Columbia.
Therefore we had no time to update our posts here in the forum…

But that doesn´t mean that there is nothing new on our blog, quite the contrary, there is plenty of new stuff to explore!

The most important first: We´ve released A NEW VIDEO!

Join us on our way in the Argentinean Andes mountains up to nearly 5.000 meter where we have to battle with thin air, rough roads, strong winds an sand.

On our further way through Chile and Argentina we are following a track into the snow-capped mountains, where we have to face one of the greatest challenges of our previous journey that leads us to our physical and mental limits.
Will we be able to master this challenge as a team?

See for yourself and be part of our adventure America del Sur:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPIgSCpw8zI
~ English subtitles and HD video quality are available via the “settings” options ~

Furthermore we have released 5 new travel reports about our exciting and adventurous travel through Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia!

In the category “Travel diary South America” you will find an overview of all our new travel reports:
Südamerika - TimetoRide - Auf Motorrad-Weltreise mit Bea und Helle
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

In our newest travel report „No man´s land“ we are crossing hundreds of kilometers of harsh, scorching savannah.
In this part the Trans-Chaco-Highway turned into a mogul slope with lots of sand passages and so we are very exhausted but happy as we returned back into civilization just a few kilometers after the Bolivian border.

But we don´t stay long as the Second Death Road, one of South Americas most dangerous roads is awaiting us. The track turns out to be a real challenge for us and our bikes.

On our further way north we are riding higher and higher into the Andes up until 4.100 m, where we got hit by the altitude sickness with strong headaches, shortness of breath and racing heart.
So it happens that we are going to try a proven Bolivian household remedy: chewing coca leaves!

Still not completely recovered but nevertheless full of anticipation we were riding to one of THE highlights of our travel through South America, the Salar de Uyuni, a giant salt lake in the middle of the Bolivian Altiplano.

Click here for more exciting and adventurous stories about our travel through Paraguay and Bolivia:
http://www.timetoride.de/2015/10/17/s%C3%BCdamerika-30-paraguay-bolivien-niemandsland/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

Furthermore we have updated our category „Field reports”!

We are using our gore-tex motorcycle clothing DANE LIMFJORD motorcycle jacked and BRØNDBY motorcycle trousers every day for more than 1 ½ years now and that not just while riding our bikes but also when we have to work on the bikes, when we sit on the camp fire, when we are on a short hike and sometimes even when we are sleeping.

How is our DANE motorcycle clothing dealing with this permanent use, which goes far beyond the standard use motorcycle clothing is actually made for?

We have tested the motorcycle clothing extensively and summarized the experiences and opinions we made in 1 ½ years of permanent use in our new field report.

http://www.timetoride.de/ausr%C3%BCstung/erfahrungsberichte/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

And we alsohave three new questions we would like to answer you in our category Frequently Asked Questions „FAQ“!

# How do I create a blog and who is responsible for our web presence?

# Who is responsible for cutting and editing our videos and how does it work?

# Reporting from on the road – how does it work?

Click here for detailed information to all three questions:
http://www.timetoride.de/2015/06/08/faq/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

But that´s still not all!
Our category „TRAVEL DIARY“ received a facelift, too!

From now on the category is structured even more clearly and you can select all travel reports via interactive Google Maps, sorted by continent.

Moreover you can select separate continents and our page will show you an overview over all our travel reports of the selected region.

We hope this improvement will make your browse through our travel reports even more easy and pleasant!

Click here for the newly designed category „TRAVEL DIARY“:
http://www.timetoride.de/reisetagebuch/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

As you can see, there´s plenty of new stuff to check out on our blog!

Enjoy!

Cheers, currently from windy and cold Bogota/Columbia,
Bea & Helmut

G´day mates!

Some of the categories on our web page will get a new look in the next couple of weeks.

The category “About us” is the first one and is now providing even more insights into our lives before and during our travel!

Click here for the new edited category:
http://www.timetoride.de/%C3%BCber-uns/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

And we also have a news update in our category „Electronic“:

Over 4 years of sand, dust and washboard have left it´s traces on our Nikon D5100 which we have in use since we started our trip. So now it was finally time to get the camera exchanged.

In our category “Electronic” you will find detailed information about our new camera:
Elektronikausrüstung - TimetoRide - Auf Motorrad-Weltreise mit Bea und Helle

G´day mates,

In our new travel report „Bolivia hard as nails” we are following the trails of the Spanish colonial masters, we explore a Bolivian witch-market and we are sitting in the first row, when real power ladies with flowing skirts and flying ponytails entering the ring to fight against each other.

Besides we have to battle with chaotic traffic, tired of life drivers and unwilling gas station attendants.

Click here for our new travel report:
http://www.timetoride.de/2015/11/23/s%C3%BCdamerika-31-bolivien-bolivien-knallhart/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

Enjoy!

Yours,
Bea & Helmut

But that´s not all, we have also update our “service categories”:

LET THERE BE LIGHT!

We have updated our category „Equipment“ -> „Camping“.

A couple of no-name-headlamps conked out during our travel already, so now we decided to buy a quality headlamp from Black Diamond.

If they keep what they promise?

We use our new headlamps for a couple of month now and if we are satisfied with them you will find out here:
http://www.timetoride.de/ausruestung/camping/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

NEW CATEGORY!

We have received many email requests from you regarding to the topic “SOFTWARE”:

- Can you recommend a good web page provider where everyone can set up his/her own web page in only a few easy steps?
- Which program do you use to create your videos and your animated travel route?
- What about photo editing?
- Are there any possibilities to send large amounts of data from abroad?

In our new category “Software” we will give you answers to this and many more questions!

http://www.timetoride.de/ausruestung/software/
(Please use the language select button on the right hand side of the page!)

We hope to provide some useful information for you!

Cheers, currently from Columbia,
Bea & Helmut
