West Coast Scotland June 2012

The dilemma: While the whole world (or at least most of the UK) sits at home watching it raining on Queenie's Parade, do I a. do the same, or b. Join a couple of mates for a spin up the west coast of Scotland?

You've guessed the answer. Easy really, considering I've never been there on a bike and the further north we went, the better the weather got. Who can honestly say, 5 consecutive days in Scotland and no rain...

Setting off from Huddersfield and after too many s over night at Tan Hill, Steve and I ride to Dumfries to meet up with Nick, Natalia and Robin. There's a 1/2 hour delay while Steve fixes a puncture:

Aye, that's a beauty that one! Great ride, great report. Sometimes we overlook what's nearby in favor of far-off wonders. Guess it's maybe a case of the grass being greener and all that, though with all the rain Scotland gets, they must have about the greenest of grasses.....excepting Eire of course. While it's great to read about epic trips over classic routes, shorter "local" trips make excellent reports and fine rides as well. Thanks for sharing......looking forward to your next foray? Isle of Skye anyone?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
