Stumbling points could be the carnet or CPD for Iran (but I read on this site, that it could be possible without - I don´t know myself, because I had one, when I entered the country). Contact the AA in your home country, and/or search this site, and you´ll know more. Also getting Iranian visa for UK passport holders could be problematic nowadays. Both are Green Card countries, which makes the bike´s insurance easy.
But if you manage those, then yes, they´re both great countries for touring, and you have a wide selection of routes in each one! Very expensive fuel in Turkey, though. Esfahan in Iran & Cappadocia in Turkey are good examples of great places to visit, but of course there are many many more. Could get extremely hot in the summer months, though - make sure you´re well prepared! Might be more recommendable to ride through in the spring, or before winter comes.
