Dublin, NW200, Isle Of Man, Belgum, Nurburg, Mugello And Nothern Spain
I'm new to Horizons Unlimited. I heard about it through the Adventure Motorcycling Hand Book. It seems a really cool site.
I am doing a trip in May/June for a month and thought it would be great to get some advice and on good roots to take.
I also posted up in the Travellers Seeking Travellers section to see if anyone was going my way for any of the trip.
This is my second month-long trip, the first was in 2007 and there were two of us and it was a fantastic holiday. I am going alone this time and will be leaving Dublin to travel up to the North West 200 in Portstewart. Then it’s on to the Isle Of Man on the 17th of May. I'll be leaving the Isle Of Man on the 19th and heading for Hull to get a ferry to Belgium, where I will stay for a day or two.
I am going to head to the Nurburgring, after that I have some planning to do and I'm open to ideas or suggestions of places to visit.
On my last trip we went via Chamonix through the Mont-Blanc tunnel which was magic, mainly because the road leading from Montreux to Chamonix is such a beautiful road through the Alps. This time I am thinking of going through the Gotthard tunnel, heading for Milan, for my next scheduled destination, the GP at Mugello on Sunday the 30th of May.
If anyone has experience of these roads around the Gotthard tunnel, any advice would be much appreciated, such as the best biking routes and interesting places around that area. (The same applies for the whole tip)
Then it is West to Genova and a ferry to Barcelona. Travelling across the north of Spain, taking in the Pyrenees to Santander for the 11th of June. From Santander I will take a ferry to Plymouth, travelling up to Wales and getting a ferry home from Fishguard on the 14th of June. (If anyone knows of any good campsites between Plymouth and Bristol, I would be glad to hear of them.)

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
