Do it! It's the best time to be there. Go slow.

August can already be too late, cold.

Did the run two years a go - we arrived in mid July. The night we were up at North Cape it was windy and chilly - there had been sleet on the evening of June 21st according to a couple of Australians we met in Bergen.

No snow on 21st June 2003 but damned cold at the cape. The E6 is not the most exciting road in Norway but you might want to consider an excursion to the Lofoten Islands on the way up or back.

By the way when you do your packing just remember you won't need a flashlight!

Cheers!

Matt

I can recomend to follow the road along the coast instead of the E6 if you have enough time and the weather is nice. The weather is the biggest problem if you want to see the midnight sun at the cape, a local told me that a few years ago the summer lasted 5 minnutes... But the nature is very nice even in bad weather.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
