HELP: Borders from Argentina - Chile

Hi
Does anyone know a little bit on the borders of Argentina - Chile?
I`m looking for a small/unsophisticated one north to Mendoza.

Cheers

Uncomputerized border

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
Do you happen to know if the Argentinian border side is computerized, or linked to the database of other Argentinian borders? (Moto permit issue)

Cheers

Not that the computerization helps you much... you still have to fill out all the paperwork every time you cross (I had to do it 7 times in each direction!)

Tomer,
I've been pass in the Paso del Agua Negra border, they are computerized, but, you've to fill all the paperwork.
I believe they put in the sistem after you leave the border.

Argentina`s - San Fransisco Border

Hi
I`m getting ready to cross the border from Argentina to Chile. Another option is the San Fransisco Border pass. Does anyone passed through there and can tell if the border is computerized?

Another option is passing through the secondary borders near paso jama. I just saw that there are trails on the map, so I`m not sure there is a border office there.

Any info willbe greatly appreciated!!

Paso de Sico

Paso de Jama is a regular route and well controlled. Paso de Sico is just south of it and more desolate, but a beautiful route past purple and green lakes, and volcanos all round. But if you break down it will be a long wait before help comes by!

Paso de Sico

Hi Toby
I understand that you`ve passed through paso de sico, when was that? and do you know if many people pass through there? what is the state of the trail to there and how is it on the chilean side? I understand from the map (not total sure if it`s updated) that there`s about 200km-250km of trail, is this correct as far as you know?

I didnpt quite understand from your answer if the border is computerized in the argentinian side, can you please elaborate on that?

Muchisimas Gracias!!
