Hi Bergunt,
I'll travel from the UK to Turkey between 15th and 20th of June. We may meet somewhere on the road and have a dinner.
Try to check:

for advices. Be sure that you got all your paperwork like insurance, green card, visas etc. You dont need visa for Bosnia and Croatia but for the rest you'll. I've spoken with their embassies and confirmed that Turkish people can enter Bosnia and Croatia and stay there up to 90 days without visa. As far as I red, there might be small possiblities for some threats in Bosnia and Sirbia and Montenegro, but I've never red a negative thing. So, I am not bothering about that.
Btw, what is the bike you gonna ride?
Good Luck and Have fun.

In Bosnia, especially on the road Trebinje-Foca (near Montenegro border), sometime happen cases of carjacking.
Nevertheless, in general, the country is very safe and very beautiful.
The advice is stay on main roads and ride during the day, but don't be paranoic. I rode my BMW GS all over the country without problems and I'm going to do the same this summer.

Hi again,

Actually I am end of my PhD, and, I am planning to submit my thesis on June. If everything goes OK I'll depart on 15th of July from England and planning to stay one night in Salzburg and one night in Belgrade and one night in Thesselonika. I'll leave from Belgrade on 18th morning and will be in the Balkans on 18-19-20 of June. On 21th I must be in Izmir as there is a wedding ceramony of my friend on 23th of June. I am gonna ride a BMW F650ST. I'll have all my camping equipment with me too. I've crossed my fingers and pray to finish the thesis as soon as I can.

[edit]: my route will be:
UK>France>Belgium>Holland>Germany>Austria>Slovenia >Croatia>Serbia and Montenegro>Macedonia (FYROM)>Greece>Turkey

have fun.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
