London to Sydney... in a London Black Cab
Hi Folks
Myself and 2 others will be departing in January to drive to Sydney in a London Black Cab. We are raising money for the British Red Cross and aim to break the World Record for the furthest and most expensive taxi journey ever. (more info at It's on the Meter - Home, join the facebook group!)
But we need some advice...
China:
We will be driving up over the Tibetan boarder from Nepal (along the friendship highway) into China. We have been intending to use an agency to support us in China.
First of all, has anybody done this route? any advice? What are the realistic implications of driving at that altitude (in a naturally aspirated diesel :s).
Secondly, has anybody got any advice as to driving in China, we have to have certain permits, licenses, guides etc. to drive through China. For this we have been quoted by a fixer/agency. The amount is reasonable, however we were wandering if there was a cheaper option...
Should we use an agency? use an agency to sort out some aspects of the trip or do it all ourselves.
This is my first post (hopefully of many) on here, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
