Oh dear, the best laid plans...

As a wedding photographer I shall very soon have the time to get on my bike and go somewhere nice, some Alps, perhaps Istanbul, perhaps further.

I am getting increasingly worried that as the UK is now geting the tail-end of various Carribean hurricanes that the rest of Europe will also be getting them in turn; it does seem logical. No doubt hurricane Ivan will also soon be making its presence felt over here too. Does anybody know if there is a tendency for European weather to broadly follow what happens in North America, or can anyone suggest a web site that gives long term forecasts? Naturally, I hardly expect anyone to be able to give a precise forecast, but just a broad indication might be useful in deciding whether to go or to stay.

Actually, in the past all my travels have been in the summer and I really don't know what to expect this late in the year, in Wales it can be pretty mild for another couple of months in a good year; what I'm asking really is, Carribean hurricanes apart, what are my chances of getting soaked and frozen during the next couple of months in Europe?
