hi,
first of all wish you a good ride. dont take too much stuff with you, try to arrange visas before you leave, europa is expensive try to leave europa as quick as you can, no need camping turkiye as the accomodation is cheap, prepare your bike.
and dont forget to drop me a line before you arrive to istanbul.
enjoy

I am myself leaving on a trip from Sweden to Thailand during this week and what I have experienced so far is do the visas in good time before the trip, not so easy to get visa to Pakistan and Iran takes quite some time.

Crossing Pakistan
Sounds like a fabulous plan. Before entering Pakistan drop a line to me or Pakistan Bikers Club. We will be more than glad to help you and show you the best kept secret of the modern world; The Incomparable Pakistan.
You can also contact Kabul Bikers and different Indian Bikers associations which can make your trip easier and much more fun.

In Amsterdam, Going same way to Pakistan/India and further
Biffo,
Just saw your note saying UK, Amsterdam, Iran, India, and I am just applying for my Iran visa which i hope to pick up next week in london. I have no set departure date, but my rent is only paid up till October just by Schipl airport Amsterdam.
It would be great to know someone else on the road in the same direction, I was not planning on doing to much in Europe so catch up/slow down possible with a meet up in cappadocia turkey ?
Riding a BMW F650 GS dakar, with TT39 tank modification, and TT panniers which are too big and took a battering in Mali.

Sander,
I have just come across the pakistan visa, which appears to have changed since i last looked for the UK, (or maybe i just didn't read it correctly).
Pakistan need a Sponsor for the visa application as well as hotels, how did you go about this ?
Did you use a visa service ? or just go to the embassy in Amstertam ?.
Andy.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
