Re-Assure me on my timings.
I have 6.5 months starting on March 1st to do this trip which i am in the final stages of tieing up the route etc.
I want to ride fast to sicily (Ewan/Boorman esque) and get the ferry to Tunis.
Libya
Egypt
Sudan
Ethiopia (Pretty much direct to Addis and then onto Djabouti, but my heart says i should be spending longer, do some wildlife wathcing etc.)
Djabouti
Yemen
Oman
Iran (Transit from port in Oman/UAE)
Pakistan (South Karachi)
India (Mumbai furthest south, towards Nepal)
Nepal
India (Delhi to Pak border)
Pakistan (North KKH etc.)
Iran
Turkey (In transit to Syria)
Syria
Jordan
Israel (Finishing destination)
Looking at the list it seems a crazy list of places, and after thinking about the distance am starting to think i need more than double the amount of time. A month in a country doesnt seem a long time after spending a month in a place like china in the summer, but then again it wasn't like i didnt get a feel for the country; more that i didnt see the whole thing...a month i spose is still a considerable amount of time.
Is it doable without becoming a Long Way Down freight train service or am i taking the piss re distance. The mileage seems to average out to be 130 miles a day approximately taking into account some detours, i spose this is ambitious considering how tired i feel after an 130 mile UK motorway sprint (but then i do it in 1.5 hours, not whiling away the day).
I know its a how long is a piece of string question....but does anyone get the feeling i am going to be killing myself for time. I think realistically i need to be back in the UK for September 15th - just signed on a contract till the end of February.
