Road of Bones /Mongolia by bicycle??
Good Day All
Live in South Texas - doing theTDF thing and do u the cost and fact it is a bit complex to get a motorbike over there/etc... was thinking of doing the area by bicycle.. cheaper (takes longer) maybe a good thing in the way of "being there" in the adventure - but then can be other issues using a bicycle!
any comments from people in the Know!
thanks

The toughest mozzie repellant I found up to now was from OZ. Worked on mozzies AND bush flies ;-)
Make sure to use top tech bicycle equipment that takes alot of battering. No aluminum pannier racks - only chrome moly or stainless steel. Waterproof pannier bags, like Karrimore, Carradice or Ortlieb.
Enjoy!

You don't say where your complete journey will be to but if planning cycling for a long trip you could get caught out by time limits.
There are now time limits on how long you can stay in Russia on a single visit. 90 days in any 180 days now a condition of Multi Entry Business Visas.

Sorry for my long delay, Hans, but I'm changing home. Uff, what an hard work...
I'm not back from Africa, I still have to go: the travel is planned for august, every day I feel more excited... In the meanwhile, if you travel to Italy, you can find me in Reggio Emilia (Emilia Romagna). The is waiting...
But maybe it's better if we follow in another place, we are spamming the Sandman's thread...

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
