Robert Fulton
I'm planning to follow the route Robert Fulton made back in 1932. He wrote a book about it "One Man Caravan". Has anyone done any research around this? Anyone working on a similar idea? One of the tasks will be to re-read the book and log all the places he went to and plot them. But, if someone already did this ... I'd like to hear from you.

Off the top of my head I would say Afganistan and China would be....difficult. I gave my book away and it went to Malaysia (did you like it Mika?) so I don't remember the entire route.
Let us know how far you get!

BTW - if anyone is looking for a book about riding around the world on a motorcycle, Fulton's book is fantastic.
You can buy a copy with all-new photos at http://www.whitehorsepress.com/

hi kevin, hi chris,
the book is good, but not the best mc travelling book I ever read. kevin, it will also be hard for you to enter Iraq. But good luck - as you know - there is always a way.
chris, I gave the book away to a good friend in Malaysia - hope you don't mind.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
