Assuming you are in Marrakech at the moment, head south over the Tizi n'Tichka and shortly after the highest section turn sharp left downhill signposted Telouet. The Glaoui Kasbah at Telouet is worth visiting. Afterwards the tarmac is a bit grotty for a short while, then the road turns south on new tarmac heading down the Ounila Valley and you reach Ait Benhaddou (bit touristy). Keep heading south and you reach the main road again 25km before Ouarzazate.
After the Gorge of the Dades, head east for Tinerhir then head north up the Todra Gorge and keep going all the way via Ait Hani and Agoudal to Imilchil. Auberge Ibrahim at Agoudal before Imilchil is good, alternatively lots of places in Imilchil.
From there you can either head north via El Kebab towards Khenifra, or east to Midelt.
