Turkey to China
Hello folks,
Currently trying to get a time frame for Turkey to China route. Riding a triumph tiger 800 xc. Departing Istanbul and Arriving at the border stop of Irkeshtam in Kyrgyzstan. Anyone have suggestions on how long I should allow for this part of the journey? Here's what my rough itinerary looks like
- turkey (black sea)
- Georgia
- Armenia
- Iran
- Turkmenistan (transitting only)
- Uzbekistan
- Tajikistan (Pamir highway)
- Kyrgyzstan
I was aiming to arrive around the beginning of August, and arrive at the Irkeshtam border stop mid September. So say, 6 weeks for the run. What do you think? Should I make it shorter or longer? Love to hear some advice from the population of adventurers here. Thanks in advance.

Was great to meet you...
Merhaba,
I guess you are the guy I met at a friends workshop today.Tiger 800 rider, from hamburg and on the same route..
Just a confirmation of an information we talked today..
I checked my notes when ı was back at home.Yes it is tajikistan consulate which gives visa same day..25 usd. for visa and 25 usd. for pamir highway permit.First you fill e-visa application form then apply with 1 photo and passport photocopy..
I hope several travellers experienced on one of popular routes to east will share their experiences here..
I wish you a great trip with lots of nice memories.
