UK to/from Romania

Would be interested in any thoughts or recommendations for my forthcoming trip. A pal has organised the route shown below. We are catching up with friends in Jimbolia and Augsburg, hence these locations, and have (reluctantly) left out the Transfagarasan since our dates are fixed and this will (i understand) still be snow blocked. Looking for quieter roads, interesting heritage and good local food.

Cheers
Andy

Help - I've made a rookie mistake! I'm currently in Czech Republic and have not brought copies of my bike registration doc and insurance (since in Europe - been lots of times, no docs needed, got copies in dropbox).

Just realised Romania is not within shengen area - do i need original docs? If so any suggestions (short trip so no time to post)?

Probably get insurance at the border, so that leaves just the rego papers

Thanks. I can't find any specific requirements for them on the Romanian embassy website. Am thinking of printing colour copies of the reg doc in Krakow and having a crack with them - seem sensible?

Just a quick update - no problem getting into Romania- checked passport only. Had a great trip so far other than losing one of my two riding pals with a broken clavicle (being pinned tomorrow). Leaving Romania to head home Wed, back to the UK Sun.

I travelled from UK to Turkey with temp copy of V5 after it went missing, no problems at all last year. Entering Bulgaria was the only place it raised a few eyebrows? Thankfully my wife flew into Istanbul with a new one to continue on with.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
