Buenos Aires to Cusco and back
Hi all
I've been a way from here a very long time but it now looks like I'm going to fly myself and the bike out to Buenos Aires at the beginning of December to return at the end of January. So, I have about 9 weeks in total including dead time sorting out the bike shipments. I'm thinking of riding more or less straight across from BA into Chile via Mendoza, up the coast to Peru and carry on up to Cusco. Then back through Bolivia, down to Montevideo and return to BA for the flight home. A loop of maybe 10,000-12,000km depending. There is plenty of scope to cut down the size of the loop if time runs short and to explore a little if ahead of schedule. Also it would be great to connect with the Paris Dakar at some point. I know I'm realistically going to experience every kind of weather at this time of year but there are other constraints that dictate the timing.
The trip is about the ride itself rather than sight-seeing but I will be taking a few days breather here and there along the way.
So, any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated. Other than hearing I've not given myself long enough to explore and experience the region of course.
