TY for posting this. I'm new to HU and Adv Bikes but not to 4x4 offroad vehicles. GPS and mapping technologies have changed A LOT since the first consumer GPS device (Magellan) in 1989. in vehicle GPS in 2001, and today Adventure Bike GPS and mapping technologies continue to evolve.
On your metal cutter website, you pointed out Gaia GPS has more map layers than Garmin, and Gaia has ease of use beyond Google Earth... While I have a Garmin Zūmo motorcycle GPS for my KLR650, I'm still sorting out current routing technology suitable for regional and national single track trips.
Beautiful photography (including side-car motorcycles), metal work, and interesting historical maps on your website. I'm an older guy, like yourself, and I've always been interested in the eclectic sidecar motorcycles... We have a retro classic Indian Roadmaster Hannigan trike highway cruiser, that is a three wheeler, but not an offroad sidecar cycle. They have their appeal, and while larger, are harder to dump in the dirt/sand/rocks than a two-wheel bike.
Are you considering a future cross country route like the w/e/w Trans American Trail, or the n/s/n Great Continental Divide Route???
Again thanks for the map tech post! Also enjoyed your Washington state trip reports and photos. Keep up the good work!
