Ferry between Flores and Timor
We had big trouble finding out information about how to get to Timor from Flores, but luckily our friend helped us. So if you need to go the same way, there are apparently two options, where to take the ferry from:
Village of Aimere on the western part of Flores. Ferry leaves on Wednesdays and Saturdays and was almost empty when we took it in June 2016. Pier was almost empty until late the day before the ferry was departing, so don't get too much concerned. Also woman in the restaurant, which was just at the pier, didn't even know that the ferry was actually leaving on Wednesday as well as Saturdays. It is an easy day of riding from Labuhanbajo to Aimere. There is a good restaurant just across the street from the entrance, which does takeaway.
Larantuka in east of the island will take you longer to get to, but ferry should be leaving three times a week, one of which is Friday - don't remember much else.
Ende is suppposedly not working any more. Make sure to take hamocks, our ferry ride was only 20 hours, but really "bumpy".
