Laos to Mongolia (April/May 2017
Hi Everybody,
Well we decided to sell Plodd (Merc 814D) then we decided not to sell, then we decided to drive her from Thailand to Europe, that is now our plan, so if anybody wants to share a guide through China at the end of May 2017 or very early June going from Laos to Mongolia, not taking in so many sights please let me know. Our web site is plodd.net or overlandersthailand.com where you can see what we have been up to in Plodd since driving to Thailand in 2014 from the UK. Dave

Cost for crossing China
Hi,
I have just got the cost for crossing China from Laos to Mongolia at the end of May or early June, it is £2300 per car working on the principle that it would be 2 cars so is there anybody thinking of joining us.

Cost for crossing China
Hi,
We are 3 motorcycles willing to cross China to Mongolia/Kazakstan around end of May.
Which border would you like to exit China?

Erenhot is the best exit border to cross over to Mongolia and will give you some of the best places to see along the way through China.

If you would be keen to avoid highways, we can sort things out by adjusting the route. I saw agencies offering motorcycle transits with the same entry and exit. However It might be longer.

Hi Dariusz,
So sorry that we can not travel with you bikers, the reason is we need to cross China as quickly as possible and we must take our guides advice about the motorways.

daveandles , if you would not find anybody we can organize the trip together by ommiting expresways, this would extend your stay in China 2-3 days, but with 3 vehicles costs will be much lower.

Hello,
We are only 1 motorcycle, but can consider joining your route, depending on the cost.

Hi
We are also 1 bike looking to do the same trip!
Current quote we have for 3 bikes is 3000USD per bike (pillion free) for 14days
They are happy to drop some bikes at Mongolia a few days earlier and drop others at Kazakstan border on 14th day
This includes guide an all required paper work as far as they say.
With Dariusz and you guys and us that is 3 bikes!
the quote is from Ride China
Please reply asap if you are keen to lock in as time is running for them to sort paper work.
Cheers
Lucas

Hi I could be interested but it seems too tight in 14 days from Laos to Mongolia.(?) is around 4000kms, not all fast with some rain.
we were in China up to Tibet border from Thailand last year (2016)
the price $3000 x bike sounds expensive!I do have have contacts of an agent that could do it cheaper .
Keep in mind the group should stick together with guide.there is check points between provinces ,we were stopped several times.
lucas :it takes 3/4 weeks for the agent to get documents ready.not in a hurry.
but lets move on a new thread for the bike trip .(I just created a new 1 .look for it)
where are u staying in thailand?

Just an update on my movements I leave CR Thailand on the 24th March 2017 and fly to Kunming to pick up my Chinese plated bike with the plans to ride as much as I can over Yunnan and Sichuan provinces heading basically over towards Beijing which should be on the same route to Erenhot.
Love to join up with a few of you guys along the way, with over 8 years riding all over china maybe I can be of some assistance.
PM me with details
Sergio, are you the same guy from BKK?
