Paperwork

With the Corona virus shut down my paperwork is an apsoulute mess. One way to fix some of it would be to get a CDP from Automotive Association of Malaysia. I checked with them on the way through and they said it was doable. Problem now is AAM has moved and I think bought out by another country and I have not found contact information on line. So anyone out there know what is going on and how to contact them?

Normally you get a CDP from your and the bikes home country, which for you would be Boomerang Carnets. Technically you cannot get a carnet from another issuing authority unless your home country does NOT have an issuing authority. There often seem to be ways around this, but that's the "rule".
I do know that Boomerang is very much in operation, so check with them.

Thanks Grant
As you say the rule is "get in your own country". But ... there are reasons I am wanting to get in Malaysia, one being if I can make Iran they can cover it which the government here will not allow. When I talked to AAM two years ago they said they would do it. (the rule really is if you are not getting in home country issuing agency need to get permission from who ever issues it in home country)

I would advise against AAM. Lets just say their reputation is questionable at best. I would suggest looking at the European providers instead.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
