North Carolina, Asheville - Camping
This is another, great, regional motorcycle campground!
Located west of ASHEVILLE, a few miles north of the BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY on US 276.
Nice grassy/wooded campground, with a stocked TROUT pond. (The trout are hungry, and HUGE! You can feed them via a coin operated dispenser on the dock. Lot's of excitement for a quarter!)
The bathroom facilities are adequate, and clean.
They have some cabins available.
Meals are available, priced OK, and decent. Shopping and more restaurants abound within 10-20 miles.
There is a large communal firepit...which is the 'social center' at night.
Nice place, very convenient to some superb riding areas..not too far from I-40 if you're travelling the interstates.

Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground
Reservations are not needed to tent camp and there are no minimum night requirements. You can rent mats and coolers.
Separate men and women bath house located centrally. Laundry facilities. Electric Plugs in bathroom. Water available by hose.
Vending machines. Breakfast ala carte and fixed supper menu (not vegan), no lunch. Kitchen closed Sunday Supper.
You want to book cabins in advance!
Have tent camped there for the past two years during group event. Shaded or sunny camping spots. Nice riding surrounds site. Cool nights, running stream, pond.
Good food and company.
Off beaten track, two wheels only, although your bike can enter pulling a trailer.
Couple of good service stations with supplies a short distance up the road.
20 miles or so north is a good size town.
I'm not connected to campground in any way, just enjoy it a lot.

All I can say is ditto. This is a first class operation and Phil and Leslie are great hosts. I am not connected to the campground but regularly spend my weekends there. I live only 30 mile down the Parkway from BRMC.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
