Accommodation in Rio
Hello!
I am going on a 990 ktm to rio and I am looking for a payable accommodation.
the problem is I need the room from the 14.2. to the 19.2. the beginn of the carnival, and all I found until yet was full or costs more then 1200 US for 2 person.
does anyone have an idea where I can find something cheaper.
thanks

Same problem - What about camping?
Hola,
We too are planning to be in Rio at about the same time. We will have camping gear, but have had difficulty finding campgrounds in Rio. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Cords & Aasha

Rio
Hi,
I don't know if this will be any help but it's always difficult to find somewhere at Carnival time. There is a fairly new hostal called Mellow Yellow, it's owned by an English guy,Terry. It's a backpacker haunt and when I was there I was without my bike but asked and I THINK he said he could do something. It's got a great atmos and is 200m from Copacabana beach. There are a load of rooms that have bunk beds in and at Carnival time they put a third bunk on top. They have a website, sorry, I don't have it but it should be easy enough to Google. Nothing definite but worth a try.

Try www.webcamping.com.br The nearest camping ground to Rio is in Recreio (or something like that). It is between Rio and Barra de Tijuca . About half an hour from Rio. It belongs to a group called Camping Clube do Brasil. We stayed there a couple of times and it is pretty nice. You may have to be member. Hope this helps.
