Now we are getting somewhere

This is just the sort of thing I was talking about on the thread about Lonely Planet books. We have the knowledge between us to do our own thing. What it needs is an open page(s) where we can add info country by country and build up a database that enables you to look up Country/State/Town and find accomadation/petrol/food/drink/sites and the best local rides.
Then you can use the LP guide as toilet paper for those places that don't provide it.
In areas that have long distances between gas stations I marked those I passed, so also have a load of them that may be useful. Where they are thick on the ground, like around a main city, I did not bother since it is fairly obvious that petrol will be available there.

Great information! Google translator does a good enough job to make it very useful to us non-german speakers.

Excellent design.. nice use of lightbox =] I'm trying to setup a nice way to use it on my site.

The start point is in the "biker friendly" forums (fora?) when you scroll down a bit: there has been a bit of development in there recently and it now includes your very list of stopping places, free camping etc etc.
Now all it needs is some up to date input!

Exclamation

Hello all together,
well I refer to the different replys: Well a "Kampfhund" (fight dog) is a dog like a pitbull terrier: You wouldn`t like to slepp next to that one I saw there. A real monster!!!

Anyway, regarding a accomodation page about south america as well as food, petrol info page I can add on my page in a special area.

In case you would like me to do that, just send me all info you have and i will place it in a special "moto-adventuer.ch/HU/acco_food_petrol"-Page. So anybody has access to it. However, at the moment it is not possible to open the page to anyone to include their info themself.

Let me know what you think of that idea! I certainly would love to do that, but I just have my info, so I would need your help/info for that!

Thanks
Burnout1

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
