Best season to travel?
Hi All, my wife and I are currently planning to ride from Buenos Aires to Tierra del Fuego, then north to Mexico and possibly beyond (cash permitting). We are hoping to start the trip in December 2010 and spend 4 months-ish (ideally this would be the minimum duration, again cash permitting) traveling so we would ride through Central America and Mexico just before the wet season (we experienced the joys of rain storms so sudden you cant get to the waterproofs in time the last time we visited!)
Anyhow we were wondering if December is the best time to start such a trip or would we encounter more favorable conditions along our route if we started in November or mid October instead?
Any advice would be appreciated as would recommendations for routes and don't miss highlights, we'll be riding small dirt bikes on this trip so hoping to get off the beaten track (but not too far as our off-road skills are pretty basic)
Cheers

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
