Yes, try "ATM seguros" Bs.As. They will cover all MERCUSOR countries named on one ticket covering the dates that you want and it is cheap compared to UK prices. Ride safe.

Even when not compulsory, it is worth buying (if available), as it only takes a second to have an accident .......

Where are you now ?

Argentina, it is compulsory to enter the country with the bike.

Chile it isn't, in fact Chile do not seem to be able to sell you insurance for a foreign bike in Chile.

However, if you are in Chile, they *will* sell you insurance for Argentina :-). Go to Ripley or Fallabella and they will be able to do it.

The others I don't know.
It would also be easier if you told people where you are now :-)

They should do, we were offered 3 days, 7 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 month and 6 months.

6 months was only 10USD more than 3 months

We were on a Funduro 650, we paid $70,000 for 6 months, 3 months was about $64,000

Ask at the hostal you stay in, I assume you will be in Arica so will recommend Sunny Days. Ross (the owner) is very helpful and will point you to somewhere.

Otherwise, do what we did in Los Andes. Start at Ripley and just keep asking .... Falabella do it if there is one there.

Eventually someone will know where the office you need is :-)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
