Maybe buy in Santiago and go to Peru and sell it again in Santiago. The other possibility is find a tourist of your own nationality, do the paperwork in your country and try to sell it to another tourist. Santiago is not that big a distance from Peru and you can go all the way on the Panamericana.

Been living here for almost a year now.
Highlights are :-
Cusco, Machu Pichu, Titicaca, Nasca, Lima, Cordillera De Los Andes, Huaraz, Sabamcaya, and lots of gravel raods in the mountains.
Costs...errm, about 12 soles per gallon, 20-30 soles for a cheap hostal, 15 for a burger-king burger, 3 large s for 10 soles.

If you are not leaving Peru on the Bike it's easy to buy there. Chines bikes can be had for $1500+ for a 250cc new, lots of 125-250 cc jap' bikes for much more and various used markets. Honda 400 cc Falcons are around and much more than that gets pricey fast. Try Lima for "" exotics" (400cc plus) and China bikes, Cusco for used Falcons.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
