Carretera Austral codition (Futaleufu-Chile Chico)
Hello travelers, we are about to reach our starting point of the Carretera Austral and would like to get some updated info about the route condition. We know there are some portions are still under construction and would like to make sure we can ride our sidecar on those portions.
Thanks for the update

Hi. Momentary the careterraaustral is blocked about 20km north of puyuhuapi. It might be open soon as the rockfall happened a few days ago. ( we were there 2 days ago) We were told they dont work on it as long as it rains as it is too dangerous for the workers. From the north side u can go as far as the camp at lago risopatron. Road to lago verde is blocked too ( too much water in a river).
We went via palena to ruta40 and reenter chile at paso coyhaique tomorrow.

To carify: the rockfall happened where the construction is north of of puyuhuapi. Road is entirely blocked now. U have to either wait till they reopen (maybe ask police, they will know) or have to take a detour via argentina. From what i heared it may take a few days. So if u have time enjoy the north part of CA and try to get info from police.

Quick update: just talked to police: the road is opened again.
You will face some construction though. The road is closed between 1pm and 5 pm.
The section under construction is the 20km just north of puyuhuapi.
