Chilean Registration Papers & Selling
After one week of riding, and three months waiting to get my DR650 repaired, the bike is finally fixed!!! I bought the bike in Januray and now the registration papers (papeles al dia) have expired. I have the new ownership card (pardon) in my name and when I get the inspections, and change the other papers:
- Seguro Obligatorio
- Certificado de Revision Tecnica Clase B
- Certificado de Emisiones Contaminantes
- Permiso de Circulacion
These too will be in my name. I have been told by a couple of co-workers, that all of these things can be done at the same place. Is this true? Is there anything I should do in particular to get the bike ready for these inspections? Are these inspections tough to pass, or simply if the bike runs, the brakes work, and it has a functioning muffler, it is likely to pass?
Also I plan to sell the bike, and hopefully fairly quickly, as my plans have changed and need to take care of time sensitive family matters back in California. Any advice about selling a bike in Chile would be very helpful and appreciated
Thanks in advance
Matt
