Dakar Rally 2012 - Peru Meetup
I'm really hoping that I can make it to Peru for the start of the Dakar Rally 2012. Is anyone else hoping to go? Want to meetup?
Anyone have suggestions on where to enjoy the whole experience?

Even better, it will give me a little more time to get to Peru. Hoping to see the Nasca to Pisco to Lima legs. Hopefully it will be possible traveling on the highway.

I find I get hungry about 1730 - 1800hrs but then a few cold s and lots of discussion are usually good before a meal so plan on arriving a little early why don't you.

Ok cocktails at 17.30, see you at the bar. I will wear filthy riding gear and a beard that ZZ Top would be proud of so that you recognise me
Cheers

Tell you what, meet me at the start of the Dakar in 13 and I'll buy the first round, I imagine my gear will be about as filthy but no beard because I'm as pure as the wind driven snow and I have to maintain my image.

We'll try to catch a glimpse of the rally a few das south of Lima, no idea when and where yet. Will be there probably with a bunch of other overlanders and bikers from Colombia and Ecuador!
Think visiting the finish in Lima is quite costly, as all hotels will be fully booked etc.
If anyone wants to meet: just contact me.
