Lima?? Booked??
There is NO WAY Lima is booked because of the DAKAR! Remember, Lima is a city of 9 million!
I will be staying at my good friends hotel: Hotel Antigua de Miraflores. I will ask him how much more space he has. A little bit steep, but that's because it's so nice. but I can ask for a special deal if anyone is interested.
I will be arriving by air from Haiti/Miami to Lima midnight of the 12th-13th of Jan. and will get a rented XR650 and a cell phone in the AM and post my # for anyone who wants to meet up. I know Peru from living and riding there for 30 years, know all the Peruvian Motorcycle Federation folks and the KTM franchise guys, so I might be able to get great setups for the finish and the celebrations. Anyone game??
Troy, when are you getting there??

There are a bunch of bikes in Columbia entering Ecuador that will be headed to the end of the Dakar in Peru.
Keep your eyes peeled for five guys, Kevin, Kerman, André, Mark and Jürgen, they are travelling together at the moment.
Don't know about the others but Mark is a top bloke and you can get in touch with him ( Kusi1) here on the HUBB.

Lou, I am due to fly into BsAs 18th January. I assume it will be a few days to clear bike etc. I have booked an apartment for a few weeks in town and plan to take some Spanish lessons before heading south.
If it works would be fun to see the start of Dakar
Cheers Delbert

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
