Fly fishing - DIY / local access
Hi,
I am very keen to fly fish while in South America. (Argentina, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, etc). There are loads of places offering fishing but they are all $1000+ per day which doesn't work if you want to fish often. We are travelling around in my 4x4 overland vehicle so
Can anyone tell me where I can fish and what the rules are that might make it more accessible?
Thanks

To find the places is not that diffucult when travelling around you will see plenty in southern Arg/Chile. But the bureaucracy is the hardest part! We gave up fishing many years ago. Got the impression some bureaucrats hate people who fish and got the opportunity to write a bible of what to do and not to do. Mainly not to do. And sometimes ven in the most remote parts we were checked by some uniform on a motorbike.
Nowadays you also need a certificate of proof that your equipment was desinfected before crossing the borders Arg/Chile v.v

fishing for pleasure inSA
number one is you have to realize how stupidd authorities are in South America. the officials think the number one priority is for comercial purposes
and this is why they have sanctions
I am from Canada and we have more fresh water and lakes in the world. PLENTY OF FISH. not women.
nobody in my country could possibly exploit this product
recently I showed a photo of me and a colony of penguins probably 10000 of them when I was in Antarctica this year to a Colombian I had just met on a Moto ride. his response was do you eat them. I said no there is no commercialism in Antarctica . this dude could not understand
this is how dumb people are SA. very uneducated. this guy is a Lawyer and owns a a Vstrom 1050

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
