FREE MICH DESERTS IN BAHIA BLANCA! (plus shipping parts to Argentina/Chile)

Ay up folks,
I'll start the story shortly but I'm ditching a set of Michelin Deserts (18"/21") with plenty of life left in the parking lot of the Hotel Victoria in Bahia Blanca. They're yours if you want them.
Anyway, on to the question. I know sending parts by courier to Argentina is somewhat of a pain. How difficult is it to send parts to Chile? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Right, onto the story. I know I brought too much stuff. I knew there was too much before I even strapped it all to the bike and figured I'd spend the first month sending stuff home and throwing stuff away. The back end of the bike has been very soft, no problem on tarmac but it's been bottoming out quite regularly. This hasn't actually been too much of a problem in itself, the bike handles fine on tarmac, better than I though in fact. The issue, apart from bottoming out is when putting the bike on the stand. As the rear end compresses, the bike aproaches vertical and eventually tips over to the right.
I took the bike to a mechanic who made some adjustments but told me the rear shock was shot and needed to be replaced. Now, with the bike loaded it's trying to fall over to the left side
I'm going to get a second opinion about the shock before I decide to do anything but it's looking like I'm going to have to source a shock and ship it out. I've heard that's a lot easier in Chile than in Argentina. Has anyone tried doing this?

All the best,
Duncan.

That would be great, I'd like to see if it's the same guy I used (speedway fan on the corner of Solar and Israel). I'll be heading towards San Antonio Ouest tomorrow though, then on to Puerto Madryn before making the decision to go south or to head for Chile to collect parts.

Thanks,
Duncan.

It's near. Its at Juan Molina street (13xx) just after you cross Avellaneda Street. Just in the middle of the block and on your left hand you are going to see an old house with a big gate (I think it's blue, I can't remember). Ask for Guillermo.
He used to be my mechanich when I was living there. My family lives just one block before, so if there is something you need, just tell me
If your are going south when can meet and have a (I live in Rio Gallegos, 660km before Ushuaia).

Hi Manolito,
Your friend has just collected the tyres. I'll see you in Rio Gallegos, maybe in a few days, maybe in a few weeks.

Duncan.

Let us know what that second opinion says!
Sending stuff from UK to Argentina is not that bad.It takes some time.Specially on customs.
I ordered 2 weeks ago an XT clut cover side used from USA.It took 10 days to be at my door.
Your thinking of buying an Wilbers shock?
Try to fix first the original?????

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
