Wow... I didn´t realise that the national pride extended past steak, football (and sometimes the puma´s) to motor lubricants sold and marketed under the same name as/at local service stations. Sorry if my assumption of them not being of competive quality to the world wide distributed lubricants offended you.
If you´d ever travel Australia and asked people where to find good oil the´d never point you to the local Caltex and their home brand oil.
I´ve seen sunstripped signs on walls mentioning Castrol, but never really seen shelves of it. Excuse me if I´ve overlooked places in Argentina, as I´ve been bumming around Chile for the last few weeks where I´ve been looking for some things (unsuccessfully in the loctite 243 case (or any loctite) and was told to try Santiago in the reasonably large town of Osorno).
Cheers for the tips on those brands Molly. Still haven´t given up my search for Castrol, as I´m avoiding using different oils all the time (which lots of old timers told me is bad ). Than again, as you said, who know´s where it´s from and if it´s even the same. Didn´t mind it so much on the old Tenere´s, but I´ve spent 30k on these, and trying to look after them so to me it´s worth the efford.
