How to get easy into Miraflores, Lima!
HI, we got some good infos from the Huaraz HU commmunity (Marcello in Vagamundo Bar) how to get into Lima avoiding the bad parts of town. Most bike shops are in Miraflores.
Here it goes coming from the north:
At Panam km 36 /big bird out of paper on right side) behind a footbridge es an exit saying "Ventanillas and Aeropuerto". It is a very small sign right at the exit, hard to see, so stay on the right lane). Then go right, follow for several km (10 or 15 km). At first roundabout (big one) go straight, at second roundabout after the large Repsol raffinerie says Callao and Aeropuerto. tAke 2nd exit to Aeropuerto. Airport must be on ur right side. You are now on Av. Faucett. Follow signs either Faucett or Av. de la Marina. At the end of Av. Faucett (T-crossing) go left on Av. de la Marina. Follow 3 or 4 blocks. Go right on Av. Universitaria. Little sign says street name on crossing. (If u miss this one, go 4 more blocks and take either Av. Tingo Maria or Av. Brasil to the right. )
At the very end, down at the beach u reach Av. La Paz, go left try to go down to the beach to Circuito de Playas. Take first exit which says Miraflores, then first exit back up on the cliff and ask for Av. Larco. U are in middle of Miraflores. If u take Larco into town to Praque Kennedy, take first exit out of roundabout to the right and then 2nd to the left (crossing the 4 lane road) and then first right and u are in Av. Colima at the Honda Shop and Tatus Gaff repair. Repairs all kind of bikes, Honda, Yamaha, KTM, KLR, etc.
Leaving town, go back down to Circuito de PLayas, go south, take exit Chorillos up the cliff, stay straight to Av. Huaylas, that takes u after 5 km to the Panam sur.
Helped us a lot, if u have the Metropolitan map out of the Peru LP (can be copied in Huaraz), it helps even more.
Thanks Marcello for the help
