La Posta - Azul..a little help needed for Pollo
Many of you know Pollo (Jorge)at La Posta in Azul and many of us have been on the receiving end of his friendship and generosity.
So here´s the question......we are helping Pollo put together a website for La Posta where he can share all his news.
For La Posta money is always tight so does anyone know of an individual or firm that can donate between 30 - 50 mb of space on a server where we would like to host www.laposta.com
We have spoken to Pollo about subdomains but he is quite keen to have his own domain name. After 15 years of hosting and acommodating travellers for free we don´t think its too much to ask!
We are in Azul for another few days so if someone can come back to us ASAP we could organise this for Pollo.
many thanks
Simon and Lisa Thomas

Hi,
I might be able to help.
First of all, I'm sorry but I am not familiar with La Posta, where is it? I tried the link you posted but got an error. Could you send me more info?
Thanks,
Giampaulo

Hola Lisa and Simon,
Pollo got a website
http://www.gratisweb.com/viajero_en_moto/
it is not up to date ... and of course it would be better for him to have his own domain.
sorry, but I cant help with that, my computer crashed today and I cant start him anymore, now I use my girlfriends laptop ... and I dont know much about computers and websites anyway.
enjoy the Posta and stay for some time, practice your spanish and go for some rides around the area.
saludos a pollo y monika, hasta mas tarde

Can't help you with the computer side, but didn't PatonTrip (KLR Montreal) make a site for Pollo already under HU? I understand the request for his own domain name, can it just be cut and pasted to a new domain? I am in for anything that can be put together for Pollo and Moni.
La Posta is worth its weight in gold. Or yerba.

Simon and Lisa are allmost up to 100 % now.
After having a broken neck in Brazil and Malaria they gave themself a few resting days in BA.They even did in Mendoza a shooting for the BBC!
Both are real travellers and caring people. You can see it by the way they help people on the road!
I am very happy to met them here thanks to another great couple,Sandra and Javier.

Hi all,
thank you all so much for your information and suggestions. We have now however been able to host Pollo`s new website gratis from Patrick Schweizer who is here from Germany at the moment with his brother Yannick, in La Posta.
The website will be uploaded as
www.laposta-azul.com and we hope to have this available for veiwing in the next couple of days.
We know that Pollo is greatful for the previous web pages he has had but as we were here in Azul he was keen to be able to have his own domain which also meant that we could arrange for a selection of some of his hundreds of photos to be placed on his new site. Unfortunately we were unable to use the subdomain of Javier and Sandra new site without making the name too complicated!
We will make sure that the information on his previous pages is used in the new site and he will still be using his horizons information page!
Simon and I are doing fine at the moment, really enjoying our stay with Pollo and our previous time in Dakarmotos BA.
(BTW Pollo is in Azul which is about 300km south of BA on Ruta 3)We will be heading south ASAP.
Simon is pleased that you like the new Dakamotos.com website and says thank you for your favourable comments! Lets hope you like Pollo`s when you get to see it!
regards
Lisa and Simon T

Hi guys,
I have no ideas about a website, but I just looked at the bulletib board and I was surprised to read something about AZUL!!!
Because I was there about ten years ago on my Tenere - it was the best time of my life! I slept there in december and I came back on the easter meeting - it was great!!! Definitely a must on a South America Trip! Un asado de puta madre!!!
Ahhhhhh - quiero volver.......
