I think you might find that the Rev'It Sand 3 is perfectly fine, but a thought.
Don't take the extra gear (Gore-Tex oversuit) get good some waterproof jacket boots & pants to start with and be done with it.
I find the exact opposite of this is true with gloves. I just got back from Bolivia and was wearing the most expensive pair of gloves that I have ever purchased; Dianese Universe Gore-Tex gloves. The stupid glove liner tore loose and I had to cut the damn liner out to get it back on my hand. Where jacket / pant rain covers are very bulky glove liners are so small they will fit in any extra space you can find, and they give you a few more options.
Now just to show my hypocrisy... I own a Klim Badlands jacket I bought second hand; it is a very nice jacket. I had planned on taking it to SA for my trip, but when I was packing I saw my Alpinestars leather jacket in the closet and took it instead. That thing is a part of me, it has now ridden with me on three continents. I didn't get caught in a long stretch of rain, and I wasn't on the road for as long as you plan.
