Limitations Bolivian plated motorobike?
Hello everybody!
Me and my girlfriend are planning on buying a motorbike. We found one with Bolivian plates that really got our interest.
We read there are limitations on Chilean plated motorbikes concerning how long you can leave the countre etc. Are there similar limitation for a Bolivian plated motorbike?
Greetings!
Ben

Hi Ben,
if the bike is new, it is fairly easy to register it in your name in order to leave the country.
fairly easy means, if nobody made a mistake, which is very common ....
if the bike is used it can take weeks or months, depending on the tramitador and the documents, notary etc. and it can also get expensive to do it.
if you buy a bolivian bike, do yourself a favour and buy new ... if not, i tell you, you will regret it if you dont know your way around with paperwork etc.
enjoy bolivia

Ben,
Either way, the authorities at the border can decide weather you are hassled or not, paperwork in order or not. The most important thing is to be courteous and respectful.
More helpful than even the right papers is knowledge (or at least respect) of Spanish. It says so much about your attitude towards them and their culture! At least show interest in understanding the Spanish. NEVER expect them to explain things in English. That is just insulting.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
