Motorcycle shops Argentina
I am currently in Ushuaia and have just blown a fork seal (BMW F650GS Dakar) that is leaking badly, does anyone know a good repair shop either in Ushuaia or on the atlantic coast heading north through Argentina.
Cheers Geoff

Contact Javier at Dakar Motos in BsAs. Cash on delivery works in Argentina so he could post them to you.
As an alternative, seals for the Honda Africa Twin (XRV750) are the same size and work well - and easier to find than BMW parts.

Geoff,
Fellow traveler Sacha wrote the following:
"The Address (in Buenos Aires) of BMW is Cabrera 3698 and their phone number is 48665727."
But, he added:
"I would recomend going to Dakar Motos though as they are very cool and cheaper and will give you tons of personal attention.
There are usually a few riders staying there at the shop and its very family oriented feel."
Good luck!
(After Ushuaia and Buenos Aires, I am back in Santiago, investigating shipping the bike home!)

We got an oil change only from a guy called Victor Kovimchich in Rio Grande at Piedrabuena no 2214. However, we were seriously impressed by his really clean workshop and his attention to detail - he has his own ancient BMW and does all the mechanics for all the local motorcross riders. If you are still in the area I am sure he would try to help. We would trust him.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
