Orange County Choppers in Medellin Next Weekend

There is a motorcycle and car event in Medellin, Colombia the weekend of the 26,27 and 28th of June. Orange County Choppers will be doing a show at the airport on the final day in the afternoon. Several rides and shows are planed. The sponsors have this web site Custom Rules

I am riding my Vstrom from Cartagena, probably leaving on the 25th and over night in Caucasia on the way. If any one wants to join me for the ride, just let me know. I reserved a very nice hotel in Poblado, 5 stars for 99,000 pesos per night for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hotel Porton Medellin. There are several others listed on the web site too.

Let me know if any one wants to ride together or meet up.

Meet me on the way or in Medellin

The big event is happening and it looks like I am going alone. Doesn’t any one have some balls or least some curiosity. So far I have no takers.. Am I the only gringo biker here in Cartagena?

I am leaving Cartagena tomorrow, Thursday, riding south on 25 thru Sincelejo , just past Monteria and then into caucausa. I will leave Cartagena around 9 or 10am. I will stay over night in Caucasia. Nice Hotel, not too expensive. It is about 300 KM, Cartagena to Cacuasa.

On Friday I head south to Medellin, another 300km or so. It is a real fun ride. I carry a GPS Unit and a very good road map. Not much chance of getting lost. I have done the Cartagena to Medellin ride several times and in one day once. That was a long day. I am getting a little too old for that king of riding any more.(420 miles)

I am meeting with some other riders in Medellin. It promises to be a fun time!! We may do some day trips around Medellin. Perhaps we will go to Periera, who knows. Sunday afternoon is the Orange County Choppers show. I am not really sure what it will be about, however I am sure it will be interesting.

Everyone is welcome to join in. It does not matter what kind of bike you ride. Every one is welcome. It would be nice if I was not the only gringo in the pack. My last several rides I was either alone or in the group of Colombians. They are always very nice to me and make sure I do not get hurt or lost.

I am easy to find. Just look for the bald old guy the big red Vstrom with Georgia plates. In Medellin, I can be found at the Suzki Super Store in Poblado on 10A. or around the corner at the Porton Hotel in Poblado. My cell number is 312 628-3311.

Hope to see you there.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
