Papo Motos in Formosa
If you are on your way north from Buenos Aires to Paraguay and Brazil, Papo Motos is an excellent address to get your motorcycle refreshed. Papo is also a member of a local motorcycle club and will direct for any of your needs (melding...).
The cost of labour is particularly interesting in that region (around 10 pesos an hour). I m getting my engine reworked entirely (cylender, valves...) and chain of distribution for 170 Euros including parts. Japanese trail bikes have no secret for him. The proximity of Paraguay allows a quick and affordable access to any motorcycle part.
In any case, i m living here the direction : Avenida Gutnisky 3430 , 3600 Formosa 15419241.

I got my engine renewed It took some time since the mechanic seems to get a lot of business here.
So basicly they changed my chain of distribution that was doing some strange noise, reshaped the 600 cc cylender, changed the piston, changed the rear shock that i provided...all this for a miraculous 170 euros WITH new parts. I would advise this shop for travellers leaving the country for some time and willing to get their mount renewed by a skilled mechanic while being away, but for usual consumable repairs and custom requierements here is an address of an excellent mechanic in Asuncion
Klein Motos
transformacion restauracion y reparacion de motos y jetski
Av Aviadores del Chaco 3220 Asuncion
Fone (021) 660531
kleinmoto@telesurf.com.py
they also sell japanese trail bikes and gettting papers done in Paraguay is a breeze compare to Argentina. Large stocks of parts coming mainly from Miami.
I hope this can help those that go thru or stop in Asuncion. This dealership is professional with skilled mechanics in all domains (painting, steel working...).

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
